At the Fine Arts Academy

At the Fine Arts Academy, we have a few different programs designed to help our students learn! We offer private lessons for adults, teens, and children. Seasonally or upon request, we offer group lessons. These can range from a weekend workshop to a weekly cooperative class.

Private Music Lessons for Children and Teens

Music lessons are tailored to the student’s age and interest while still moving them in the direction of correct form and basic music theory. Your child or teen will find that our teachers can help them grow quickly, while keeping them interested and having fun!

Private Music Lessons for Adults

We welcome beginner adult students looking to learn a new skill.  Our instructors are excited to share in this journey with them! Adults often move through beginner material more quickly than our children, therefore your teacher can customize material to better suit your needs.

We are thrilled if you are an advanced adult student looking to hone in on a specific skill. Our instructors are professionals with the experience to serve you!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule lessons?

After the initial first free lesson, we require you to pay the annual registration fee and the cost of the first month’s of lessons. Once we receive your first payment, we will work with your schedule and your choice of teacher to find the best weekly time for you to take your lesson with your desired teacher.

What is the cost of taking music lesson?

Lessons are $25.00 per half hour lessons. More advanced students may choose to take 45 minute lessons for $37.50 or a one hour lesson for $50.00. Each year we also require a registration fee per student. This pays for the administration of your child’s account. Registration for a new student costs $25. For each additional family member (immediate family only) it will cost $10 per student. If you are a returning student the cost for registration is $10 per student.

Where do I find an instrument?

There are many good music stores nearby which carry instruments for purchase or rental. Your instructor can help find the right instrument for you.

How do I pay for my lesson?

Lessons are paid prior to the first of the month. This payment will cover all the lessons within that month. Please see our payment policy in the student policy document.

How do you choose your teachers?

Each instructor is hand-picked by our director, Krystelle Bean. They must demonstrate their extensive knowledge of the instrument they teach, why they love to teach, their musical background, and have a clean background check. Most of our teachers have been teaching for years before they come to us!

What if we can’t make it to a lesson?

We understand that there are reasons why you may not be able to make a lesson. Please see our policy on rescheduling in our student policy document.

What if I want to take lessons every two weeks?

Unfortunately, we do not provide bi-monthly lessons for many reasons. A few reasons are: If you practice a wrong skill for two weeks it is more difficult to correct. Your student will progress rapidly and the teacher uses the weekly lesson to check up on them and provide further instruction.

Are your lessons worth the cost?

Our teachers compared with others are experts. Most have degrees in music, are working musicians, and have the skill and technique to correct bad habits before they begin. You will learn information and skills quickly and have more fun! Our teachers love their jobs and they will help you to love learning!
