We are the Church

Ways to Gather

While the church building may have been closed, the church has not. We are moving forward! Below, you will find an update from Pastor Ray as well as details on how to get involved in various worship gathering opportunities and ways for you to take the next step to deeper engagement.

Online Gathering

Online Gatherings are the live broadcasting of our Sunday worship experience. You can watch from the safety of your own home while engaging in worship and teaching as well as interacting with Portland Christian Center Pastors.

Watch Party

A watch party happens when a group of people agrees to watch the Sunday online gathering at the same time and interact with each other all while watching from their own homes. One way to do this would be to use a platform like Zoom to interact on one device while watching the worship experience on another.

Personal Gathering

While you may not yet be comfortable gathering with groups of people, you may feel good about inviting one other person or family that you know and trust to engage in a Sunday online gathering together. A personal gathering is just that…very personal.

Wednesday Prayer Gathering

Wednesday, 7:00 PM

As believers, the Lord has called us to pray. At 7:00 PM, we will gather together, share prayer requests, and hear a short devotional on prayer. Then, we will spend time praying and interceding for our needs, our communities, and our world.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, we will be limiting in-person attendance to 50 people. To sign-up for a spot, click the link below or call the church office at 503-245-7735.

House Church

If you are ready to gather with some other Christ-followers and engage in church together, House Churches are a great way to do this…especially through a season where we find ourselves unable to gather in large numbers. At a House Church, you will watch the PCC live stream to engage in worship, sit under biblical teaching, pray together, and administer care to each other just as Christ designed His Church to do. This will, of course, happen on a smaller scale in a house and be open to anyone who wants to attend. Click “Join a House Church” to get started or “Start a House Church” to open your home and host.

Portland Community Group

Portland Communities are small groups of people who gather to experience community, study scripture, and pray together. We typically use a devotional and discussion guide as the means for study. The next 8 week season of Portland Communities begins this fall. When it comes to Sunday mornings, we highly encourage community groups to come together and engage in the online gathering as a small group.

Sunday Campus Gathering

Worshiping together during one of our Sunday morning gatherings is not the only way we can be the church. But for many of us, it is the weekly highlight experience within our faith community, as we worship together, are encouraged by God’s Word and strengthened by His presence. These gatherings are on hold for now, due to COVID-19. But we look forward to coming together in this setting once again, as soon as we are able to, with opportunities for the whole family!
