We have a variety of opportunities for everyone to grow in their faith and have fun in community this summer. This means going beyond weekend worship gatherings—to enjoy connecting with others and participating in new ways. Whether you are an adult, youth or child, there is a place for you to belong on Sundays and throughout the week all season long!

Neighborhood Picnic

September 3 | 12:00-2:00 PM

Bring your family and friends and enjoy Portland Christian Center’s annual Neighborhood Picnic! Come together for our worship gathering at 10:30 AM and then right afterward we have FREE food, inflatables, and fun games for the kids.  We will also celebrate a time for those who would like to be baptized. Welcome to the Better Together Summer Groups of Portland Christian Center! These are a great way to make connections, study scripture, and facilitate meaningful discussion, together!

It is our hope that you will develop rhythms of discipleship and fellowship that draw you closer to Love God, Present Hope to those around you, and Develop People to find our place in God’s great story!

Faith Builders

Sundays | 9:00 AM | Chapel
Faith Builders is a discipleship class for adults of all ages. Come make new friends, find encouragement and support, experience a variety of study topics, guest speakers, service projects, sharing, and praying—and we have fun too! Most importantly, Faith Builders is a place to grow deeper in God’s Word and mature your Christian faith.

Our current focus of learning is with a series of special, guest speakers that join us every week through June 25. All ages are welcome.

PDX Couples

Congratulations! We are excited for you as a young couple, newly engaged or married! You are welcome to come and meet other young couples who are just starting their journey together too. Join Mike and Missy Jones for a marriage series designed to help you learn practical ways to honor God’s plan in your relationship.

Japanese Fellowship Church

Experience the love and grace of God in Japanese! Join Pastor Hiro Noda and the Japanese Fellowship Church at Portland Christian Center for an all-Japanese worship service! Japanese Fellowship Church welcomes anyone who knows Japanese or is interested in Japanese worship and Bible experience. Our children and youth integrate into our services and are also welcome at any of the ministries at Portland Christian Center.

Romans: Teaching Series

Romans is a letter about the Gospel—the Good News for all who hear and receive.

No matter who you are… the Gospel is the Good News that has the power to redeem your story, for all who believe and receive, by faith, Jesus Christ as their savior, Lord, and the son of God. This upcoming series will encourage you that no matter how far you think you have gone astray, there is hope. 

Intercessory Prayer

We believe that a prayer-less church is a powerless church, so we have strategically built in time to pray each week as a church body. You are invited to join us for a time of intercession every Sunday morning. 

Young Adults Co-ed Group

Tuesdays | 7:00 PM | Hospitality Center
Are you out of high school and looking for what’s next? If so, come and meet other post-high school (18-29) adults who are looking to grow in their faith as well. This co-ed group, led by Rick and Sherri Bernheisel, has a lot of fun building strong friendships, learning about the Christian faith, and how to develop in personal leadership.

Encounter: Friday Nights

1st & 3rd Fridays | Encounter Live | PCC Chapel
2nd, 4th, & 5th Fridays | Encounter Zoom | Online

Encounter: Singles group is for adults in their 30s and 40s who are looking for community. We know that meeting in person is important for staying healthy and grounded. On Encounter Live nights, we meet at the church to have live worship, a message, and time to hang out afterward. These nights may include game time and karaoke, or just good-quality conversations.

Our Friday night Zoom events are a great way to connect contact free. We have worship, discussions, and small group meetings on these nights. Whether you are out of town or unable to meet in person, this is a way to stay connected and go deeper in discussion with friends. Blue skies (maybe), river walks, stairs (if you dig it), kite surfers, great food, and community for singles in their 30s and 40s!  We are heading out to explore the beautiful Hood River. Be at the church at 10:00 AM to join us for a most relaxing and fun adventure!

Young Adults: Lunch Crew

June 11, Aug. 13, & Sept. 10 | After the 10:30 AM Worship Gathering
Lunch Crew is a monthly event for our Young Adults (post-high school to 29). This is a great way to get to know our leaders, meet new people, or just come hang out with existing friends. We meet for lunch after the second service once a month. Come join us for some laughs, spontaneous discussions, and sample the cuisine of the city. If you are watching online, look for the group text for where we are going that day!

Howdy folks! It’s time for fireworks, bull riders, ropin’, and an all-around good time. Scoot and skedaddle on over to the St. Paul Rodeo to join us! Encounter is a ministry group for 30s and 40s singles.

Men’s Annual Golf Tournament

July 8 | Claremont Golf Club

Get ready for a golf extravaganza that will leave you teeing with excitement! Join us for our Men’s Annual Golf Tournament on July 8th at the breathtaking Claremont Golf Club. It’s going to be a Nine Hole Scramble Format, starting off with a shotgun start at 7:00 AM—so be prepared to swing into action!

We need a minimum of 36 players to make this event unforgettable, and we’ve got 15 carts ready to roll, accommodating 30 players in total. The early birds will catch a sweet deal! The first 30 to sign up get an all-inclusive package for just $50 per person, including the round, a cart, and amazing prizes. If you’re player number 31 or beyond, no worries, it’s still a fantastic offer at $37 per person for the round and prizes. And if you need a little extra luck on the greens, mulligans are available—grab three for just $5! All you have to do is sign up, we’ll make sure you have a team to join.

Young Adults: Camping Trip

Fresh air and fellowship await in the Deschutes River! Unplug for the weekend with a time of relaxing, games, hiking, biking, waterfall hunts, and of course–the long-anticipated over-hyped third annual Corn Hole Championship Tournament! Steady your hand to dethrone last year’s reigning team. Only the strong will survive to find out! More info to come.

Enjoy a day at the beach with time to relax, play, or just hang out. We will have some snacks. Bring money for lunch at Mo’s. Register for the location, bring some sunscreen, sunglasses, and come expecting loads of fun!

Encounter: Day at the Coast

It’s that time of the year to head to the coast again. Join Encounter for fun in the sun at Cannon Beach. Bring money for dinner out and shops or pack your own lunch and snacks to eat at the beach! Meet at the Fred Meyer off of Hwy 26 and Cornelius Pass at 9:30 AM to carpool or at the Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site (the parking lot at the south end next to Mo’s) at 11:00 AM. Senior Adults: Beach Picnic

You are invited to a picnic potluck at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 12 on the banks of the mighty Columbia River. Christeen Egger has graciously provided her beautiful waterfront setting on Sauvie Island for this annual event. The main dish, soft drinks, water, and dessert are provided at a cost of $5 per person. Carpooling is advised due to limited parking. Please register for directions and what to bring. Serve Portland: (Community Care Day)

Save the date for SERVE Portland – Robert Gray Middle School (formerly known as Community Care Day). We are continuing to find ways we can Present Hope to our community and by serving at Robert Gray Middle School we can be His hands and feet extended.
Serve Portland involves landscaping, trimming bushes, pulling weeds, cleaning walkways and parking lots, and spreading bark dust. All ages are welcome! If you have your own tools and supplies, please bring them!

Encounter: Beach Camping

September 8–10 | Nehalem Beach State Park
What do bears call campers in sleeping bags? Soft tacos! Not a great joke, but what do 3 days, plus 2 nights and Encounter friends at the beach equal? A whole lotta fun and fellowship and that’s no joke! Bring your tent, food, and camping spirit! It all starts on Friday, continues with an Encounter BBQ on Saturday (meat provided, you bring the sides), and ends on Sunday. Campsites have been reserved!

PDX YTH is a unique opportunity for students to be in a positive peer environment, talk about real-life issues, and learn about Jesus in a way that will empower them to live life to the fullest!

Middle school students will have a blast in a place designed just for them. We show students what it means to have a passionate, intentional faith in Jesus Christ. Students get to experience games, worship, and messages they can relate to. They will not want to miss out on all the amazing things planned for them in Middle School!

High School | Youth Center
High school students will thrive in a place designed just for them. We are committed to equipping students with everything they need to be a significant influence for Jesus. High School students will experience passionate worship, relevant teachings, and make lasting friendships with other students. High school students have an incredible place for them to encounter God and make a difference in the world.

PDX YTH Summer Missions Trip

June 18–24 | Baja, Mexico
PDX YTH is teaming up with Student Reach Ministries for a short-term mission’s trip to San Quintin, Baja, Mexico. On this trip, we will be a part of a building project that will provide a complete home to a family in need. We will also get the opportunity to be a part of a number of other outreaches that will bless and make a lasting impact on the community in the area. This is going to be a trip of a lifetime! PDX YTH Summer Camp

It’s time for Summer Camp 2023! We have a full agenda with all sorts of awesome activities, including water slides, games and so much more. But the best part? We believe this will be an amazing opportunity for students to encounter God and grow in their faith! 

There will be tons of fun and memories made that will last a lifetime! We believe that Summer Camp is a fantastic opportunity to step outside of the usual comfort zones, meet new friends, and try new things. We are passionate about presenting deep Biblical truth in fun and creative ways kids will love! On Sunday mornings, your kids will have a blast making new friends and learning God’s Word from funny skits, exciting games, and amazing Bible teaching. With a dynamic mixture of large group and small group times, every Sunday morning is packed with fun interaction and personal connections, creating an atmosphere where your kids can experience God in a way they never will forget.

When you bring your child to the professional nursery and preschool areas, they will experience fun, safe, and dependable childcare. We want to welcome them into a caring environment designed just for them! Check-In happens at our Kids Check-In station in the lobby.

Royal Family Kids Camp

July 9–14 
Through the commitment of our time and resources, the family of Portland Christian Center partners with Royal Family Kids Camp to provide an incredible experience each summer for Portland-area children who are in the foster care system. It is one way in which we are putting our faith into action, and working to Love God, Present Hope, and Develop People in our own communities. Sign up and be part of the prayer partner team!

Mega Sports Camp

July 24–27 | PCC Campus
Kids going into Kindergarten-5th grade can choose to spend four days training in either Basketball, Cheerleading, or Soccer or creating in Art Explorers. Kids rotate between exciting rally times, large-group sports training, and small group huddle discussions. It’s not just about sports. Children will also learn healthy life lessons in our exciting rally times.

Royal Rangers Pow Wow

August 10–13 | Camp Wildcat (Harlan, OR)

The Royal Ranger Pow Wow is Oregon’s premiere Royal Ranger event for boys! Activities include repelling walls, zip lines, craft projects, wood shop, and more. Don’t miss this incredibly fun and life-changing event.
Early bird pricing is through July 15. The total cost is approximately $145 due by July 22 to secure your spot and a t-shirt. All monies will go through the Oregon Ministry Network but Portland Christian Center still needs you to register your name and fill out the release form online. You can receive a 15% discount by using the word CHARTERED when you pay in full by July 22.
Please note that all leaders must have completed the OMN background check by July 26. If you completed the background check in previous years, then you are good for two years from that time.

Hilltop Early Learning Academy

Summer Camps

Weeks 1, 2 & 3 | 8:30 AM–1:00 PM | Hilltop

Join us for three weeks of Art and Science exploration, investigation, and discovery. Each week of camp will be a different theme incorporating handson learning, problem-solving, and creative projects. Hilltop Summer Camps are for ages 3 – 7 years old (through first grade).
