We have a variety of opportunities for everyone to grow in their faith and have fun in community this summer. This means going beyond weekend worship gatherings—to enjoy connecting with others and participating in new ways. Whether you are a parent, senior adult, youth or child, there is a place for you to belong on Sundays and throughout the week all season long!

Sunday FUN-DAY | Neighborhood Picnic

September 4 | Neighborhood Picnic | 12:00 – 2:00 PM
Our final summer Sunday FUN-DAY will be on September 4, right after our morning gathering! We mailed out over 1500 postcards inviting our neighbors and surrounding community to join us for a neighborhood picnic with free food, inflatables, and games for the kids. We also need your help with set up, tear down, food prep, and guest services, so sign up today and help us share God’s love to our neighbors and friends!

Faith Builders

Sunday | 9:00 AM | Chapel
Faith Builders is a discipleship class for adults of all ages. We meet Sunday mornings during the 9:00 AM discipleship hour and invite you to join us! Come make new friends, find encouragement and support, experience a variety of study topics, guest speakers, service projects, sharing, praying—and we have fun too! Most importantly, Faith Builders is a place to grow deeper in God’s Word and mature your Christian faith.

Japanese Fellowship Church

Experience the love and grace of God in Japanese! Join Pastor Hiro Noda and the Japanese Fellowship Church at Portland Christian Center for an all-Japanese worship service! Japanese Fellowship Church welcomes anyone who knows Japanese or is interested in Japanese worship and Bible experience. Our children and youth integrate into our services and are also welcome at any of the ministries at Portland Christian Center.

We are a community group of 30s and 40s committed to growing in Christ and growing together. We do this by studying God’s Word and applying it through practical means including small groups, service projects, and serving the needs of others. Our group is also committed to having fun! There are many game nights, scheduled and impromptu events throughout the year as we get to know each other! We strive to provide a safe environment where we are loved and challenged to grow—equally, using both truth and grace. We want to help you to thrive and fulfill God’s purposes in your life.

College Co-ed Group

Are you out of high school and looking for what’s next? If so, come and meet other post high school through college-age adults who are looking to grow in their faith as well. This co-ed group, led by Rick and Sherri Bernheisel, has a lot of fun building strong friendships, learning about the Christian faith, and how to develop in personal leadership.

Emotionally Healthy Spirituality

Did you know you can’t be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature? Join Pastor Paul Lewandowski as he leads Emotionally Healthy Spirituality; the eight-session video Bible study by author and pastor Pete Scazzero. Participants can look forward to a biblical integration of emotional health and the classic practices of contemplative spirituality, leading to a relational revolution with Jesus.

College & Young Adults: Food & Fellowship

Food and Fellowship is a monthly event for our College and Young Adults (post-high school to 29). This is a great way for you to get to know our leaders, meet new people, or just come hang out with existing friends. The first Sunday of every month we meet for lunch after the Sunday Gathering. Come join us for some laughs, spontaneous discussions and sample the cuisine of the city. RSVP here for the July 3 event!

College & Young Adults Beach Day

Enjoy a day at the beach with a time to relax, play, or just hang out. We will have some snacks, roast some dogs, and of course s’mores! Register for the location, bring some sun screen, sun glasses, and come expecting loads of fun!

Father’s Day

Dads, grandpas, father’s-to-be, and spiritual mentors–we want to celebrate you this Father’s Day! Come hear an encouraging message from Dr. George Nagato and receive a fun, practical gift as well!

Night of Prayer & Worship

We always look forward to expecting God to show up in big ways at the Praise & Worship Night! And you are invited to be a part of this special evening dedicated to seeking God, praying together, and lifting our hearts in worship. Let’s grow deeper by experiencing the presence of God together! We hope you will stay afterward for a special fellowship time with refreshments provided.

College & Young Adults Camping Trip

July 22 – 24 | Deschutes, OR
Fresh air and fellowship await in the Deschutes River! Unplug for the weekend with a time of relaxing, games, hiking, biking, waterfall hunts, and of course–the long anticipated over-hyped second annual Corn Hole Championship Tournament! Will the dynamic duo reign or will a new champion emerge from the ashes? Only the strong will survive to find out! Cost is $25 for early bird registration by July 7 or $35 through July 20. (Additional $10 if you need a tent.)

Men’s Shootout & BBQ

July 23 | Sauvie Island
Join the Men’s Ministry for our Summer Shootout & BBQ on Sauvie Island! Whether you’re a novice and would like to learn how to shoot, or you are an avid marksman, this event is for you! The day will consist of Guns 101 (safety and shooting), pistols target shooting, rifles target shooting, clay pigeon shooting, competition… and of course, delicious BBQ!

Men’s Annual Golf Tournament

August 12 | Charbonneau Golf Course | 2:00 PM
Alright men! It’s time for Portland Christian Center’s annual Men’s Golf Tournament on Friday, August 12, 2022. Tee time is at 2:00 PM at Charbonneau Golf Course with 18 holes, scramble format. Cost is $50 per golfer and includes: green fees, cart, and prizes. Awards will be for 2-long drive, 2- K/P’s, plus 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and other categories. Mulligans included: 3 for $10. Register as a foursome or individually and we will form your team with other single golfers. Registration deadline is Monday, August 1, 2022.

Men’s Motorcycle Ride

August 20 | Bend, OR
Men, are you ready to head out on the highway? If you ride a motorcycle, we invite you to join us for an amazing day of riding some of the best roads of Oregon! We will leave our city in the rear-view mirrors at 8:00 AM as we head up Mt. Hood over to Hood River, with lunch in Cascade Locks, returning home early that afternoon. Cost is simply your food and fuel (breakfast and lunch). Invite another rider or two to join you. Register today! We will follow up with you with all of the details soon!

Encounter Singles | Beach Day

It’s that time of the year to head to the beach again. Join Encounter for fun in the sun at Cannon Beach. Bring money for dinner out or pack your own lunch and snacks to eat at the beach! Meet at the Fred Meyer off Hwy 26 and Cornelius Pass at 9:30 AM  to carpool or at the Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site (the parking lot at the south end next to Mo’s) at 11:00 AM. Community Care Day

August 27 | Robert Gray Middle School
Come help us show some love to the Robert Gray Middle School campus and get our neighbors ready for the coming school year! Community Care Day involves landscaping work, such as trimming bushes, pulling weeds, cleaning walkways and parking lots and spreading bark dust. All ages are welcome! If you have your own tools and supplies, please bring them! Sign up and let us know you’re coming to share the care.

Up for a moderate hike? For those who love the variety of scenic beauty around Mt. Hood, this hike is for you! We will head to Mirror Lake, then up to the Tom, Dick and Harry Ridge for a panoramic view of the beautiful Mt. Hood area. Meet at PCC at 9:30 AM ready to hike and make sure to bring a lunch, hiking snacks, plenty of water, and money for dinner afterwards. Students, grades 6-12, come and meet each week for the PDX YTH gathering. It’s a time devoted to you, our teenagers where you can encounter God, make friends, grow together, and make a difference in the world. You can join us as early as 6:00 PM in the Gym for sports or just come to hang out.

HS Summer Missions Trip

June 19 – 25 | Baja, Mexico
PDX YTH is teaming up with Student Reach Ministries for a short-term mission’s trip to San Quintin, Baja, Mexico. On this trip, we will be a part of a building project that will provide a complete home to a family in need. We will also get the opportunity to be a part of a number of other outreaches that will bless and make a lasting impact on the community in the area. This is going to be a trip of a lifetime! Join us this year for Summer Camp 2022 and grow in your relationship with Christ and your friends! Our world is in need of students who are willing to stand strong with God and to live out the great adventure He has in store for them. Our prayer is that you will see how important it is to live your life boldly for Jesus, and that you will make a decision to take your stand as a Christ follower, so that you can partner with God to impact your world. Kids Church

Sunday mornings, Portland Kids is the main event for elementary kids in K-5th grade. Kids learn to live for Jesus through exciting praise and worship, Bible teaching, skits, games, and object lessons. Families, check in your children in the main lobby before the service while your kids head downstairs to the Family Center.

Early Childhood (Birth – Pre-K)

Royal Family Kids Camp

Through the commitment of our time and resources, the family of Portland Christian Center provides an incredible Royal Family Kids Camp experience each summer for Portland-area children who are in the foster care system. Mega Sports Camp

Mega Sports Camp is an outreach designed to impact kids with the gospel through big movement, sports instruction, character building, and devotion time. We are excited to include skateboarding this year in addition to soccer, art explorers, and cheerleading. Royal Rangers Pow Wow

August 11 – 14 | Camp Wildcat (Harlan, OR)

The Royal Ranger Pow Wow is Oregon’s premiere Royal Ranger event for boys. Come experience three nights and four days of fun in the great outdoors! There will be amazing adventures, games, activities, worship, and coming closer to Jesus! Some activities include: ziplining, paintball, airsoft, archery tag, woodshop and much more. First Love Skate Camp

August 15 – 18 | Portland Metro Area
Do you love to skateboard? Know a kid who does? Then you don’t want to miss this summer day camp! Skateboarders, ages 7-15 years old, will travel to several different skateparks each day throughout the Portland metro area. Campers can expect to skateboard all day, have tons of fun, make new friends, and hear about the love of Jesus. Helmets must be worn at all times and provide their own sack lunch.
