We are thrilled to be moving forward with our remodel! Our Board has approved the expenditure for the first phase of our project, and our contractors are coordinating workers, organizing sub-contractors, and securing the final permits from the city to proceed. Demolition has been underway with the help of a fantastic team of volunteers, and contractors will officially begin work on Monday, November 4!
With this progress, we know several people have been impacted by the changes. We’ve had to shuffle classrooms, move equipment, relocate supplies, and, in many cases, “squeeze” into different spaces! We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their patience during this transitional period.
The entire center section (the 1979 portion of the building) will be closed off. As a result, bathrooms for the Chapel will be located downstairs near the Youth entrance. Nursery check-in will be relocated to the hallway near the bathrooms in the Hilltop/Gym wing. Additionally, access to the Worship Arts Center will now be from outside the building via the glass doors east of the Chapel/Office building.
Due to restricted access through the center of the building during construction, we will have increased security to ensure the safety of our Kids as more people travel through the lower-level hallway. These are exciting times, and though there may be some inconveniences, we are Building on Faith—honoring the legacy that came before us and writing the next chapter of Portland Christian Center’s amazing story. God, what do you want to do through me?

We are thrilled to announce that we have begun our remodel process in three key areas.
- Started the process of carpet removal, wallpaper, pews, debris, and other miscellaneous items needed to prepare for construction.
- We have been working closely with our architect for drawings and permit approval coming soon to begin construction.
- We are working with our general contractor to properly address the size and scope of the project within our budget.
Our first focus once these steps are completed will be the sanctuary and the lobby. This will allow us to create a warm and inviting worship space for people to encounter the life changing love of Jesus. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to transform our facilities.
