Patience is the most difficult of the nine-fold fruit of the Spirit to cultivate. Nevertheless, since God saw fit to have it listed among these spiritual virtues, obviously he expects us to master it. Why is our patience so important to God? Because God’s main concern is the development of our character, not our personal comfort, and the completeness of our character is best produced by the things that call for patience. In other words, difficult people and challenging circumstances are necessary to the growth of this fruit of the Spirit in our character. In this sermon, you will gain a clear understanding of what Biblical patience is, why it is critical of us to cultivate it, and how we can intentionally grow this essential fruit.
