In Matthew 6:19–33 Jesus tells us to not store up treasures on earth because it is temporary. He tells us to store up treasures in heaven because it cannot be destroyed or taken away. Your heart will be found in what you treasure and this passage makes it clear that we cannot serve both God and money. Only one can be our master. The big question of the week was, “Who’s kingdom are you building with your generosity?” When we invest in God’s Kingdom it transforms our hearts by clarifying our purpose, shifts our focus from temporal to eternal, and upgrades our worry to trust. We don’t have to worry because our heavenly Father is generous and will provide for all of our needs!
